Realizing as she stares down the table either no one heard her or they choose to ignore her. With a head shake her shoulders slump slightly. It really didn't matter one way or another did it. Nanyaa stands up from the weyrling table now completely lost any want for food she may have had. Navace would have to go find her if he even bothered to.
Much louder she states down the table with a grimace, "Again congratulations to everyone, hope everyone else has a better time." Now tossing the fruit up and down in her right hand she turns her back on the table and starts to walk away. What did she expect, she never socialized before, nor had they with her, why would they start now.

This was not exactly reassuring, even if Aliath rose again soon, there would not be enough bronzes by the time Nisurath reached adulthood. E'dian chewed his lip as his mind worked at the problem; for he was far from thrilled at the idea of R'lec consorting with his daughter.
"I know you have not worked with the Weyrlings before R'lec, but do keep an eye on that Blue and Brown. Those girls might have their hands full." The Weyrleader's response was slow and distracted as his mind wandered. Not that he wanted R'lec anywhere near Iaslia, especially now, but the better those Weyrlings knew the bronze rider the easier the transition later would be.
He nodded slowly to Gaelle, his mind still running off on its winding paths. This was more talking than E'dian tended to do in entire days. But with the Hatching, an itch on his spine told him things were only just starting. "Yes, but you did Impress younger. I certainly hope little Nisurath grows up like her dam. I can't imagine... two golds in one Weyr. It has been awhile indeed."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The redhead blinked as Nanyaa spoke again before she had even time to respond. Iaslia held up her hand to hold Nanyaa in place. "Easy there. Thank you." She wrinkled her nose in a smile that few aside from Kess ever got to see. Even Ev'os was not often privy to the other side of Iaslia. "No, she was not expected. Very welcome, but unexpected. As was your Niddalath's choice. I cannot remember a Brown ever choosing a girl as a rider."
The day's events had clearly shaken the normally impassive girl in a way she could not even begin to express. On a regular day she would not have even really bothered to respond to Nanyaa. But as the dragons had shown, today was different. And these newly made riders were the future of the Weyr. Iaslia had hardly expected the gold, but then, no one had expect a blue and brown to Impress to girls either. When was the last time that had happened, she couldn't recall.
She smiled somewhat distantly as Kess complimented Nisurath, the little gold really was something else. A challenge she was going to be no doubt. For a moment Iaslia wondered if Kess could read her mind. Her cousin always seemed to know the exactly right thing to say.
A slight blush washes over Nanyaa's face, slightly embarassed by her out burst and the new gold rider actually responding to her. Dumbfounded she just stares for a moment, until a soft smirk warms her face slightly.
"yes... I guess that is unusual, for some reason I hadn't even thought about it... just seemed right." Tilting her head to the side she looks up and down the table.
"Sorry for that... I guess I'm just used to... blending in so much I assumed no one heard me. N... Navace is usually the social one..." Now your rambling... that's a good way to make friends. Staring for a moment at Ias and then Kess smiling a little more then looking down feeling uncomfortable.
With a long sigh she shifts on her feet, half wishing she could just vanish. Nanyaa brought this awkward moment upon herself and now has no clue what to do, so she just stands there, silently cursing herself.
The greenrider looked up to see A'rik and smiled. He was a good man, taking on Candidate Master was no easy task that was for sure. "Indeed!" He said with an uncustomarily joyful smile. He had already taken the food he wantd and positioned it on his plate as he liked, everything in its place and not touching.
"The tubers are excellent tonight." Was his first response to the food. J'mie was a very trim man and looking at his portion sizes there was no surprise there. He had a mound of veggies where the meat and tubers took up little space on his plate. He did like veggies best though not many shared his opinion.
"Woder when the dancing will begin..." He spoke loud enough so the others could hear. The Weyrsinger should be performing, he though and smiled. He loved listening to music as well as dancing to it.
--------
Havalie's tray was now laden with enough food for more than one person but that may have been because she was putting off sitting with the Weyrlings. Ev'os and Iaslia had tried to make her life miserable as Candidates, as Weyrlings, she could only imagine it would get worse. Timid as she was, she knew she had to eat with them.
Taking a seat across from a very lost in thought, T'van she hoped to be unnoticed to avoid the remarks that were surely to come. Despite being in much finer clothing than usual, Havalie felt even more out of place. If only Sarenth were awake...
The conversation seemed to be about the dragons which was a neutral subject. Or so she thought. It seemed Nanyaa was not happy about something. She did not really catch any of what was said really. Havalie looked around the room, trying to see if she could find Caselo who seemed to have dissappeared the day of the Hatching. "I hope he's okay..." She whispered to herself, low enough that no one would have heard her.
Then her blue eyes ended up on A'rik, which was not good. She had hoped that feelings would go away when impressed but apparently not. As long as they were not strong enough to upset her dragon, which she doubted a crush would be, it was fine. Havalie reassured herself. Then looked back down at the food she had hardly touched.
-------
Making mental notes of the dragon names as they went through and congratulated eachother, Ev'os seemed to be only half listening. He was eating his meal as hungrily as his dragon but with a bit more decorum. He was not going to seem like some uncultured drudge. "Oh yes, Rovanoth fell right to sleep as soon as he got to his couch in the Barracks."
He kept silent when it came to congratulating the others as they walked up to the table. Kess and Iaslia seemed to be the center of things at the moment anyway. He caught his brother looking in their direction and could only guess that he was worried for Iaslia. The brothers had never been close and he doubted impressing a Bronze was going to change that.
"Its not impossible but very rare. I don't recall there being one either." Ev'os said cooly. Women on fighting dragons did not sit very well with him and the thought of possibly having to compete with women for greens was about as akward as things could get. With one on brown she could compete with him for Wingsecond positions and the like. He was really not interested in dealing with it.
Remaining his usual aloof self he changed the conversation, "The dancing should be starting soon. Wonder if they'll start with something up tempo?" Ev'os could dance if the occassion required it. As a Bronzerider he better get used to it. A small voice in the back of his head had him wondering about a small, dark eyed green rider. He couldn't help but smile at remembering her.
Dancing? "Dancing?" An Nanyaa felt sick, the thought of dance made her stomach turn. "Well I believe that's my cue to leave... I haven't seen my brother yet anyways." She eyes Ev'os for a moment before shaking her head. "Eventfully day... congratulations again to everyone, I think a walk will be... better for me. Enjoy yourselfs..."
Dances usually involve more contact then Nanyaa wanted with anyone especially the boys. She would always try to lead and ended up on someone feet. No point in waiting around to be embarassed. Better to keep on being seen as anti-social then clumsy. "Good night" Not wanting to let anyone reply she turns again and moves through the tables.
