Itona smiled and followed Somadin. "You're dragon will come! There must be a reason you get to have more than one chance. Right?" She didn't exactly understand what he meant when he said his dragon wasn't on the sands, but she could guess. "How does it work Somadin? Explain it to me. I don't normally talk to others, so I don't know as much as everyone else." Itona bit her lip. She was being more than honest. If he read carefully into that statement he'd find that she really didn't. She didn't know her numbers or letters well at all, and didn't know much about dragons either..
Well now that she'd spoken to someone there was no use stopping, she might as well have someone teach her what she needed to know. If they got banned from the weyr then one of them needed to know what to do with a dragon if they impressed, and Dela wasn't exactly making an effort to talk to people. She nearly glared at everyone she saw, that's what it looked like to Itona anyway. Maybe that was because she always seemed to look at Dela just before she looked back at her. Itona wasn't sure, but she did have a feeling that her sister didn't like the people here, she knew why, but the weyr folk weren't helping calm her sister at all, they seemed to make it worse with any friendly attempt they gave. Itona pushed the thought away and watched Somadin. Yes he would be a good source of information. She smiled at her luck.
