Lahoj is all around average in appearance. He stands around five feet, ten inches, making him on the average scheme of things. He has a tendency towards being ever so slightly chubby, holding it in his face and belly, though he always promises himself he’ll start eating less and losing the weight next week. Next week has yet to come. He’s not entirely without muscle though- he can work hard if spurred enough to do so, and his arms are fairly well developed.
He is uniformly tan, even in winter. His skin color could generously be called olive, but that would be somewhat of a lie. Olive would imply a certain richness of skin color that Lahoj simply does not possess, try as he might to achieve it. Lahoj has been known to slather strange things on his skin in an attempt to reach that illusive ‘perfect’ color.
Sadly, Lahoj lacks exotic eyes or hair. Both are brown and rather mundane in appearance, though Lahoj does have auburn high lights in his hair if you squint enough. He’ll point this out to you too, just in case you missed it. At least his brown eyes are bright and intelligent, without being overly placid or muddy. Those same eyes are a little on the small side, giving him the appearance of a constant squint. He does have quite nice eyelashes though- long and thick, like a girl’s.
Lajoh really does have remarkably generous lips. His mouth is too big for some people, and it’s easy to see why. His mouth is feminine in shape, but also remarkably wide. Jokes about how he’s going to eat someone are not uncommon. He also has long, delicate fingers coated in sewing calluses.
For all that he’s plain appearance, Lahoj dresses flamboyantly, in a riot of bright colors and patterns that don’t necessarily always match. He dresses to gather attention and draw the eye to him.

Personality: Lahoj is flamboyant and outspoken. His colorful garments match his colorful personality. He’s loud, often obnoxiously so, and doesn’t seem to have an off button. He’s been known to blatantly tell people when they look bad, making his company mixed at best. It’s sometimes hard for people to deal with someone so outrageous, or someone who can come off as so rude.
Unfortunately, Lahoj isn’t the brightest bulb on the tree. It can take him a while to figure out basic things, and he sometimes needs to be told lessons more than once. He isn’t stupid… Just a bit dull, and slow in learning. At least he doesn’t get frustrated by his inability to comprehend- Lahoj is nothing if not amiable, and he never seems to drop the façade of being flamboyant and out there. But Lahoj is also extraordinarily lazy, putting things often and finding ways to shirk off tasks, or keep them off until the last minute. He would much rather be having fun or relaxing in the sunshine than doing anything that requires hard work, which is perhaps why he was only Searched recently.
There’s also the issue of Lahoj’s sexuality. Being bisexual in the weyr is hardly a problem, but being so overt in his sexuality sometimes is. Lahoj flirts outrageously with men and women, sometimes flirting with people far older than himself, hoping to garner favor, or have a quick hop in their bed. He came into his sexuality at the tender age of thirteen Turns, and has been an absolute horn dog ever since. He isn’t a particularly good flirt, and he can transition into begging if he really, really wants the attention of someone. Though he is far from ever wanting a long lasting relationship, Lahoj supposes he would rather share his living space with another man than with another woman. Children terrify him.

Like many weyr born children, Lahoj was the result of the emotions generated during a Queenflight. Both his older sister and younger twins were born he same way, but somewhat uniquely, they share the same father. Dalos and T’tos were never extraordinarily close, and T’tos did not take much interest in his children, but they always seemed to find each other when emotions were running high. T’tos died soon after the twins were born, and Lahoj has almost no memories of his father.
Dalos was a very feminine woman, and a talented seamstress, and Lahoj ended up taking after his mother in personality as well as appearance. From a very young age he expressed interest in the way needle and thread could be used to make entirely new garments from simple materials, and he showed joy in even the most basic of repairs. While his color choices were not always so good, Lahoj’s talent shown through, and Dalos has been heard to remark on more than one occasion what a shame it is that she can’t send the boy off to learn the weavercraft properly.
Running wild in the crèche, Lahoj established himself as somewhat of a jokester, amiable enough to let people pick on him while giving back what he received. He was a sort of middle of the pack character, only starting to stand out as he grew older and more flamboyant. It wasn’t until he hit puberty rather hard that he realized his own sexuality, and took to it like a duck to water. The transition to becoming an official Candidate has been hard on him because of that, and he sometimes stifles against the strict no fraternizing rules.
Lahoj was officially Searched at seventeen Turns of age, and has stood for other clutches before. His failure to Impress does not seem to have daunted him, and he will continue to stand for the Turn or so that it is still allowed. It is unclear if Lahoj fully comprehends the hardwork that being a dragonrider entails, or if he thinks it involves passionate sex and lifelong companionship.
