"Where the blazes did I put that jacket..." He muttered under his breath. The man sleeping in the bed beside him was still very much out of it. It had been worth it but now he had no idea where any of his clothes were. He had drills in less than a candlemark and he was not going to be late. Xyrath still slept, his connection with the dragon told him that. He could use her help right about now though.
The usually impeccibly dressed greenrider would not go walking about the Weyr half dressed. It would not do at all. He stratched the side of his head absently. Ah HA! Found it. J'mie walked around the bed to the other side. When he got his jacket on he realized his boots were near the door. At least he had remembered not to trek dirt into someone elses room.
Another one night enjoyment, gone too soon. That was the life of a greenrider though. He finished putting his boots on and looked back at the handsome sleeper on the bed. He really wished he could have stayed but then akward mornings were never really his thing. J'mie left through the door and closed it snugly after him.
He was on his way to the Alpha Wing Weyrs, trying not to bother the scurrying drudges when he felt a strangeness come over him. The first thing he thought of was Xyrath and he burst into a run toward his own weyr. When he opened the door he could see her lying on her couch, tail twitching. "What is that about I wonder?"
There was a feeling of dread about it all. Her tail never twitched unless she was irritated and what could irritate her in her sleep? J'mie stood in his own doorway contemplating it all. Perhaps he should talk to E'dian about it?

A'rik was quite used to early mornings. It was his usual routene(SP check doens't work ) to get up early, grab a light breakfast in the hall and proceed with getting the candidates roused and going with lessons. Only today there were no lessons. With the recent hatching candidates were relieved from lessons for the time being. They would resume when another clutch was pending. He exhailed softly and stared at Pantoth. Curled on his couch, the smallish brown still slept as well as when he was a weyrling. A'riks lips curled into a gentle smile. He rose and dressed for the day. Back to drills with Alpha wing, such was the life of the Candidate Master. Some days when lessons were in full swing and the Candidate Wing was bustling he missed being a steady part of Alpha. Now that lessons were over with and he was returning to the normal life of a rider, he missed the Candidate Wing. He ran a hand through his short blonde hair and grinned, forever torn between two jobs. The hallway outside of his weyr wasn't exactly busy. There were a few riders awake at this time, and a few drudges doing their typical morning tasks. He started his walk to the hall treading quietly in an attempt not to wake any others. As he approached the enterance into the larger hallway that would lead him out of the wing weyrs he passed by the openning to what was J'mie and his greens privet weyr. He was standing ridged gazing into the small room. "Good morning." The browns tone was upbeat and cheerful, with a small hint of excitement for the upcoming drills.

It was only a moment later that he heard the other man's voice come from behind him. J'mie turned slowly to face A'rik. He knew all the dragonriders and how could he not with only fifty odd dragons and the new Weyrlings at the Weyr. The upbeat brownrider had interrupted a less than happy occassion but that did not keep J'mie from being pleasant.
"Good morning A'rik. I trust Pantoth is well?" With those of higher rank he thought it best to be slightly formal in his greetings, despite circumstances. Xyrath's tail was stil flicking from side to side as the sun began to rise over the horizon a little at a time.
"You have not noticed any of the others doing that have you?" He indicated Xyrath. The green was probably having a bad dream, he told himself. Though with her that was highly doubtful. She never even had bad thoughts. What did she have to worry herself about? J'mie took care of the worrying.

He took a step closer to the doorway and gave the green rider a once over. "I trust Pantoth is well?" He grinned. "Yes he's doing splendidly. How is Xyrath? Sleeping soundly I hope." He glanced past the rider to the small dragon. Her tale flowing back and forth like that of a feline. A'rik looked back at J'mie. The green riders face held something more then early morning sheepishness, he was concerned.
"You have not noticed any of the others doing that have you?" Truth was A'rik couldn't say that he had. He shook his head slowly. "What do you think it could be about." He leaned against the wall, his eyes following the greens tail.

J'mie smiled back at A'rik. "That is good to hear. Then the Candidates did not end up sending you into insanity. Those kids probably had it out for you from the beginning." Seeing as half of them were family to the Weyrleader that had to be difficult. If one asked J'mie, he'd much rather not have to deal with whiny teenagers.
He was not exactly relieved at the other mans answer. Maybe it was just a fluke thing but he really doubted that. Xyrath was a very consistent green. She had her routines even when she was proddy, she had things she did that made him know what was coming. This that she was doing now was entirely new.
"Her tail only twitches when she is agitated and never when she is sleeping. Until now of course." He shivered unconciously. This may be better asked of someone like E'dian but A'rik had position in the Weyr and he had some knowledge that J'mie might not. "Maybe I should see if this happens again and when. I don't want to trouble anyone till I think it is serious." J'mie did feel it was serious now but he needed to let his emotional concern dwindle and use his more rational mind.

A'rik remained at his post, leaning against the wall at the entrance of J'mie's weyr. "I was close there for a while. E'vos and Iaslia had me on my toes. It was all I could do to keep from some unregretable activity." He smiled. Those kids had warn his patience thin. Majority of the class was exceptional. "Its hard to believe that those two are going to be running this Weyr someday." He grinned, no doubt this time and training the pair would make good leaders.
"Maybe I should see if this happens again and when. I don't want to trouble anyone till I think it is serious." A'rik crossed his arms over his barrel like chest and hmmed. His eyes followed the greens tail. "Perhaps that would be best. Say if it happens two more times then bring it up to E'dian. Or why don't you ask her? Wouldn't she be able to let you know if something was bothering her?" He thought for a moment. Dragons were rather perceptive, and though his learnings he knew that greens and blues were exceptionally in tune empathically. "Then again she could be unconciously preceiving something. We really wont know until we ask."

Ev'os and Iaslia were quite unfortunately related to one another. He meant unfortunately when he said it. Being from the same clutch the Bronze and Gold would grow rather close to one another. It would be hard to explain to a dragon why one cannot be chased by a particular other dragon despite liking that one most. Dragons had no reason to worry about such things. Inbreeding had never seemed to affect them.
“I feel more sorry for E'dian, his brother and his daughter. Both with ill dragons. It has to be hard to think of what would become of either youth should their dragons not make it. Rovanoth I hear is on the recovery though I have not seen him about. Xyrath saw Nisurath sunning the other day and she looked so thin still.” He supposed everyone was assuming both dragons were going to survive but he was always the cautious sort. He would not want to get his hopes up for nothing.
The greenrider rubbed the back of his neck, “Yes, I suppose you are right. Xyrath will hopefully wake up sooner than later so I can ask her about it. She does like to sleep in a little sometimes.” He must have slept in a funny position because his shoulder was very tight. It was not unusual for that to happen when he spent the night elsewhere. Xyrath would berate him later and also be happy for him too. He did go a long time between bed partners sometimes and it worried her.

A'rik stood and stretched, feeling his muscles tense then relax, he let out a sigh. Pantoth was now awake and chittering away about sunning himself or possibly making A'rik bathe him after drills. The browns morning musings had become like background noise in his head over the years. It wasn't that the dragon was looking for an answer, it was more like thinking for thinkings sake. He grinned. The morning was pushing on without him, though luckily there was still time for a quick breakfast before drills.
"You know we have plenty of time before drills, hows about some breakfast?" His voice was bright. What seemed to be worrying the greenrider didn't seem to have as much of an impact on him. It wasn't that he wasn't concerned, because he was. Its that he saw no reason in worrying before he knew what to be worried about.

There were times J'mie felt that he was too anxious about his green and others when he felt that he was worrying exactly the amount he should be. Something about it was not normal and he would find out soon enough. The Brownrider seemed to be slowly waking up though J'mie could not blame him for that. Not all people were awake first thing in the morning.
Seeing as Xyrath was not awake and that he had not eaten breakfast yet, he saw no reason why he should refuse. "Yes, that would be better than hanging around here waiting for her to wake up. The red fruit I had yesterday was awful, hopefully we have better options today."
The trim greenrider was very careful about what he ate. His OCD seemed to kick when he ate, when he dressed and when he took care of Xyrath. J'mie could care less if other people ate like they were starving or dressed like slobs, it simply was not for him.

The brown rider waited as J'mie collected himself. He stepped into the hallway and glanced down either way. The morning was moving forward and the hall had gotten considerably busier. More riders had woken and were making their way to breakfast. Some dragons were slowly waking. He let out a soft sigh.
"Yes, that would be better than hanging around here waiting for her to wake up. The red fruit I had yesterday was awful, hopefully we have better options today." He turned to look back at the green rider. "Yeah, I think I'm in the mood for a roll, something light" He grinned gingerly, and slowly made his way down the corridor toward the hall.
(shall we continue this in the hall??)
