The morning had started off ordinary enough. Havalie woke before Sarenth, made a quick run to get herself something to eat and managed to bathe before the sun was up. Being a morning person it really was not hard for her to do. Sarenth as usual complained about having to take a bath before eating.
It was not until they were on their way to the Feeding Grounds that the green quieted. There were other dragons on the Feeding Grounds this time of morning. Even a couple of the mature dragons were hunting. Amazingly the Weyrling green did not rush right into eating, instead she watched. One of these days I will be able to do that. I'm sure its a while off yet. Though I've no doubt you will do just fine hunting.
A long sigh escaped her. It would be a long while before they could fly like that. Look how agile that green is... I am going to be able to do that too! Whether she realized it or not, Havalie had distracted her Weyrling dragon from eating. Not an easy thing to do when they were always so hungry.

Per their usual routine, Kess and Claralth had been up since before the sun. She had gotten dressed and after a quick mug of Klah had taken her blue darling out to the lake to bath. Early as it was they had then made a bee line for the feeding grounds. Claralth had settled into his helping as Havalie and Sarenth approached.
Kess was currently distracted by the grown dragons hunting and flying while her wyerling feasted. Absentmindedly she remarked, "Slow down, you eat to fast." The blue huffed a replay and continued his munching. She leaned against his side and sighed before looking back to the ground. She hadn't noticed when the green and her rider had shown up. "Good morning to you both." She grinned sheepishly, Claralth glanced over, eyes whirling blue. He gave a gentle rumble of greeting.

Soon after their thoughts were done consuming them, the green began to help herself to the food left for the Weyrling dragons. Havalie turned on her heel at the sound of the voice. They had been so caught up in watching the older dragons they had completely missed Kess and Claralth.
One would think a dragon the hue of Claralth would not be easy to miss. Distractions were going to be a problem for Havalie and Sarenth if they could not even notice a very recognizable blue dragon. "Hello Kess." Havalie smiled warmly. " Good morning to you and Claralth as well." She was being as proper as possible but she felt Kess was more a friend now than someone she needed to be formal with.
"We were distracted by the larger dragons hunting. Quite a sight to see wasn't it?" She let her mouth wander while her mind was intent on the green. Havalie insisted the dragon eat slower and Sarenth used to Havalie's instruction on such matters did as she was asked. Eating slower would help her digest and she would not have Sarenth with digestion issues like Rovanoth. No, that would not do at all!
"Ravenous this morning aren't they? Sarenth acts like she has not eaten in weeks."

"... Quite the sight to see wasn't it?"
Her silver eyes watched the blondes expression. "Yes... I cannot wait for the day we can fly." She turned her face upwards and closed her eyes. "It seems that time is standing still, taunting us with glimpses of what our futures might hold." She looked again at Havalie and half smiled. With the small dragons, life wasn't always breeding and rank, it was more relaxed, more free. She relaxed beside Claralth.
"Ravenous this morning aren't they? Sarenth acts like she has not eaten in weeks."
"Everytime is like its the first time he's seen food." She grinned. The minds of their dragons were facinating to her and all she wanted was to know more. Time was moving too slowly, in her egerness for Claralth to grow larger. She scratched behind his eye ridges.

The friendship between Kess and herself was mostly linked by the comradery of Weyrlinghood however, Havalie could not help but be aware that they were both the type to make the most out of a situation. Flying made her excited and scared shitless at the same time. The blonde would never admit it aloud to anyone though. Her cautious nature held her back too much at times.
Sarenth was not a particlarly daring green but she was not afraid of things that would be natural to her, like flying. Sighing to herself she looked back over at Kess who seemed so relaxed leaning on Claralth. Perhaps Havalie gaurded her feelngs for her green too well sometimes. She loved her and feared that anything should ever happen to her.
"I am sure the dragonriders would tell us to enjoy Weyrlinghood while we can. Drills must be abysmal..." With a smile she went on to say, "I can not imagine either Claralth or Sarenth having trouble with them though." A quick look back at the green who was finishing up with her third piece sent her wondering whether she could handle any of it. Dragonriders were the defenders of Pern and she felt anything but courageous.

Just another day... get up, eat, train, sleep and repeat... funny I thought perhaps things would be different... but it seems like everyone is falling into the same places they were before...
Your rather pessimistic today rider, what has gotten at you? Nothing I suppose...
Niddalath lets out a loud snort and shoves Nanyaa hard as they walk up upon the other weyrlings eating. Normally this would have cause the girl to smirk if not laugh, but today she just ignored it and kept walking. At a glance she realizes Kess and Havalie with their blue and green were there already eating. The short brunette attempts to keep her dragon between herself and the other riders.
Nanyaa, hiding behind me will not make you less noticeable. "I am aware..." She grumbles out loud keeping her head down trying to look tired.
Niddalath lets out a short rumble in greeting to the other weyrlings before digging in. With a long sigh the girl just props herself over her browns back and forces a small smirk waving at the other girls. Her last exchange with Havalie had been awkward but sweet, and well Kess is Kess she decided to at least be polite to them before slumping down to the ground.
