Character
Name: Yithel
Rank: Candidate
Gender: Female
Age: 20 Turns
Origin: Ponaa Weyr
Appearance: (Please include clothing, hair color, eye color, height, weight, body build, etc.) ::Pictures added to the description here are encouraged, and in fact, will earn you candy.::
Yithel is on the shorter scheme of things height wise, standing at five foot three inches. She weighs around 130 pounds, holding it entirely in her rather too generous breasts. She holds herself like someone not entirely used to her curves and the attention they garner. As a late bloomer, at least physically, Yithel isn’t quite used to so much sexuality, and it conflicts with the natural confidence she seeks to project.
Her hair is dirty blond, inclined to get lighter during the summer if the sunlight is sufficient, but otherwise wholly unremarkable. She keeps it short for practicality’s sake, mirroring the style of other female dragonriders. She lets herself have it slightly longer in the front, just touching her eyelashes.
Ah, those eyes! Yithel’s eyes are almost unsettling large, making her look permanently startled or worried. Their color is gray-blue, not in itself anything special. Her eyelashes are also quite long, further enhancing her features. Her eyebrows are dark brown, not matching her hair color, and inclined to be thick.
Yithel is still learning to dress for her curves, leaning towards showing something but leaving plenty to the imagination. She favors pants over skirts. She likes to add little splashes of color in her choices and admires a strong pattern.
(Close enough… Obviously some differences.)
Family: Lower caverns worker Yanel, unknown rider father, younger sister Nanel (16 Turns)
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Personality: A young woman can do a lot of learning in a Weyr, especially working alongside her mother in the lower caverns. Patience, for one. Diplomacy between irate cooks and cowering drudges, for another. Yithel’s life has had very little room for mistakes, and she’s somewhat of a perfectionist as a result. She holds herself to exacting standards, and expects people to live up to the same. She has a tendency to be overly domineering, though she’s intelligent enough to realize when people outrank her, and quickly bows down to their wishes… Though she may silently disagree.
She has an active, curious mind that requires a lot of stimulation, growing bored easily, and trying not to let it show. Being bored conflicts with the patience she’s instilled in herself, making her at a constant war.
Thankfully, Yithel is not a quick-tempered girl. When people don’t do what she wants them to do, or when they annoy her, she is usually able to explain calmly what exactly they’re doing wrong. Unfortunately, she isn’t able to take criticism as well as she is able to give it. She has a tendency to be extremely self critical, even if she has done what others perceive as a good job, thinking she can always do better...Even if she physically can’t. Outwardly, she tends to come off as arrogant, even if she doesn’t intend it.
Yithel has a tendency to be more solemn than silly, even though she enjoys the company of her peers. It can take quite a bit to get her to ‘lighten up’ and get into a jocular frame of mind, though she has a quick wit when she gets there.
In what spare time she has, Yithel does enjoy socializing with her peers, and especially enjoys passing around tales with other Candidates, made up or not. She also enjoys quiet study of old records, especially those that mention dragon physiology, though she would take hands on experience and the opportunity to work with a person over locking herself in a room alone any day.
In group situations, Yithel likes to put herself in a position of at least some importance (lending to a degree of arrogance mentioned above). Mayhap she is too used to bossing around a younger sister and being the responsible one. She will sit back, however, and let others take charge, as long as her opinion can be heard. And Yithel will give her opinion, sometimes too rudely. Her social skills with other Candidates could probably use work in the tact department.

Pets: None
History: (This must be at least three paragraphs long to be accepted, the higher ranking you want your character to be the better this section must be. It does not apply to the players that joined before I enforced this rule. If you need an example look at the Approved bios. Thank you)
Parentage didn’t seem to be much of an issue to Yanel. There were three or four distinct possibilities for the father of her child, but Yanel never saw much need for a permanent male figure in her life. Now that she’s older, perhaps Yithel’s mother may be a bit repentant, if only because she has been nagged since her daughter can talk.
Now that she’s older, Yithel is no less curious about who her father might be, but far more resigned to never knowing the truth. Her mother had been promiscuous when she was younger, and Yithel can see aspects of her physical appearance in all three candidates. None of the men were interested in exploring their possible parentage in the girl. Yithel did manage to find a father figure in another Lower Caverns worker- a male cook, surprisingly enough. Being a rather impertinent child, Yithel was always trying to steal bites from what the dragonriders ate, thinking that they had rather grand palates, and after a time, it endeared her to the man.
In her childhood reactions, Yithel was much like other weyrborn children. She had a penchant for getting into trouble, but was never too mischievous, and hated to feel the anger of elders upon herself. She took decent care of her sister, born four Turns after her to a presumably different father (again, Yanel didn’t seem sure, and thus gave her daughter the rather uncreative name of Nanel). The two fought as siblings tend to do, but were otherwise close. Yithel was careful to at least attempt to be a positive role model.
Like many weyrborn children, Yithel was fascinated with dragons and their riders. It was the only life she knew, and is likely to remain so, given the Weyr’s secrecy. She was always one of the first to volunteer in even the most mundane tasks, trying to eek out precious free time to observe what happened between a dragon and rider, and that bond she couldn’t understand. As she grew older, Yithel grew to be interested in what physically made a dragon tick.
As it currently stands, Yithel would like to explore dragon healing, knowing that it is especially important. However, at the age of 20 Turns (barely), she has finally been officially ‘Searched’ and allowed to stand. Perhaps she did not mature until now, but now Yithel is squirming with anticipation.
